The EAFS launched a annual Self-Service Award at this year's Kiosk Europe Expo. Three awards were presented at the gala dinner on 6th May 2009:
 
EAFS Self-Service Award 2009 - Category: Best Self-Service Application
Winner: Power Products s.r.o. for their First Aid Kiosk application

EAFS is exhibiting at KIOSK EUROPE EXPO 2009 at stand no. 4D.08. EAFS will present its recent initiatives and will be available for networking.
On Tuesday, 5th May 2009 at 13.00, an introduction to the EAFS will be given by its president, Jens Schindler, at the Open Self-Service Forum within the exhibtion.

While the 27th of June 1967, the day the first ATM was installed at a Barclays branch in north London, may forever more remain the most important date in self-service, the 22nd October 2008 will also be a day to remember – the day that EAFS, the European Association for Self-Service, was founded in Brussels by many of the biggest names in the industry.
